Weapons for F-16: German Air Force Head told how a fighter coalition could help

Despite the fact that the Bundesver has no F-16 fighters, the head of the German Air Force Ingo Gerhartz noted that weapons from German Eurofighter fighter jets can be supplied for use on the F-16. The Commander-in-Chief of the German Air Force Ingo Gerhartz reported that Berlin can join the "fighter coalition" for Ukraine, although the Bundesver does not have the necessary F-16 fighter jets. He reported this in an interview with Tagesspiegel.

"Countries that do not have an F-16 can provide support here faster on the periphery, such as infrastructure or training," the Air Force commander-in-chief said. According to him, the weapons of one of the German Eurofighter fighter can be transmitted without problems for use on the F-16. Gerhartz noted that the main decision on the possible participation of Germany in the "fighter coalition" and its volume of assistance will depend on the decisions of German politicians.

"Many countries have literally recently taken off their planes and could put them in a timely manner," he stressed. We will remind, on May 14, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that during visits to other countries work on the creation of a coalition of fighter jets for Ukrainian Air Force. On May 15, the UK Prime Minister Risha Snak negotiated with the President of Ukraine, stating that the process of supplying military aviation was a "difficult task".
