Australia took the land allocated for the construction of a new embassy in the Russian Federation

Canberra authorities claimed the land in Russia, which was allocated to it for the construction of a new embassy. About it reports ABC Australia. The plot in the center of the Australian capital was leased to Russian diplomats in December 2008, and the permission for the construction of a new diplomatic mission was issued in 2011. Video day under the terms of the contract, it had to end in three years, but even until 2022 the Russian Federation did not fulfill its obligations.

In turn, the city authorities came to the conclusion that the unfinished building in the premium quarter spoils the general aesthetics, and therefore decided to apply its policy "use or lose" and decided that the Russians should leave the territory for 20 days. In response, the Russians stated that the construction was prolonged because of Australian sanctions, which were imposed against the Kremlin regime for the occupation of Ukrainian Crimea in 2014.
