And today I have the honor to mention the state awards of those whose courage protects the freedom of Ukraine and whose assistance to Ukraine's protection is worthy of mention in the textbooks of the history of our country, ”said Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting in the White Hall of Heroes of Ukraine in the Mariinsky Palace.
The President noted that in this hall traditionally celebrate those who have made a significant contribution to the protection of Ukraine and Ukrainians and whose courage has become part of our heroic history. The Head of State expressed gratitude to all units of landing troops and families of warriors.
«The liberation of Kyiv and Zhytomyr region, Kharkiv and Kherson region, the strong defense of Donetsk and Luhansk region-in all this there is the courage and professionalism of the Air Force forces of the Armed Forces. And I am sure that the day will come when we thank the Ukrainian paratroopers and for the heroic contribution to the liberation of the Donbass and the whole south of our country, ”said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, now the enemy has lost the initiative and felt that the forces of Ukraine's defense could liberate all our land. “The enemy already knows that Ukrainians are stronger. And this happened because our people stood up for our country's defense, and because conscientious people in the world help us, ”the President emphasized.
“We must continue to preserve our united strength and our sustainability to achieve the main goal - the liberation of all Ukrainian land and all our people. I am sure that it will happen, ”Volodymyr Zelenskyy added. The attendees paid a moment of silence to the memory of the defenders who gave their lives for Ukraine.
For the personal courage and heroism, discovered in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the head of state presented the Order of the Golden Star to Captain Denis Makarovsky, under the command of which intelligence groups provided quality land and air intelligence, repeatedly inflicted significant losses of live. Thanks to the skills and experience of the captain.
The military, under the leadership of Denis Makarovsky, participated in the destruction of the hostile unit of preparation near the village of Dolina in Donetsk region, reflecting attacks on Lozov, in the battles for Liman's liberation. In October, they repelled more than 10 attempts by the enemy's offensive in the Luhansk region. The President also presented the Golden Star with Major Vitaliy Bohonka's wife, who was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously.
Major commanded a parachute-stranded battalion near Novoselivka of Donetsk region. In the face of advantage of living force and technique of the enemy, the battalion under his leadership kept the line of defense of the district and did not allow the enemy's breakthrough. During the enemy's offensive, Vitaliy Bohonok organized a coherent effect of mortar calculations and company strongholds, so that the enemy could not take favorable positions.
During the artillery shelling near the settlement, Zaitsevo Major was seriously injured and died of injuries. The Golden Star was given to the mother of the deceased Hero of Ukraine Sergeant Oleg Moroz, who stopped the promotion of enemy forces near the settlement of Happiness on February 24, 2022. Risking his life, the warrior, under a dense shelling, brought a car with a large number of explosives through the Siverskyi River across the Siverskyi River.
The destruction of the bridge did not allow the enemy to capture the city and break through the front line. On June 10, 2022, Sergeant Oleg Moroz died in a battle near Slavyansk. In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the honors of the President of Ukraine "Cross of Merit" to Colonel Oleg Apostol, who in early September personally managed the airborne units during the de-occupation of Kharkiv region.
Due to the skillful actions of the colonel and the subordinate units, hostile armored vehicles were destroyed, six units of auto equipment were captured and the enemy's personnel were destroyed. The highest military distinction of the President was also received by Captain Alexander Korchynsky, under the guidance of which since February 24, 2022, intelligence authorities ensured quality combat missions.
In particular, during the offensive actions in the Kharkiv direction, its units performed tasks on the line of contact with the enemy and in the enemy rear. He has repeatedly participated in hostilities. Due to the successful actions of the units under the command of the captain, the main defense forces of Ukraine were promoted. Oleksandr Korchinsky skillfully organized air intelligence and high -quality correction of artillery fire.
Also, under the guidance of the captain, measures were carried out to mine areas of areas and routes of nomination of the enemy in the territory controlled by him. The Head of State presented the "Cross of Merit" to the senior lieutenant Pavel Krasjun. At the end of March, during the combat task, the calculation of howitsa D-30 in cooperation with the mortar battery, the lieutenant caused fire damage to the live force and means of the enemy in the areas of settlements Kalinovske and Kostroma.
