Russian scientists say that technology has already been tested on Earth, and quantum channels cannot be broken. These keys are planned to be used for encryption of all kinds of data, and then these encrypted data will be transmitted on other "traditional" channels such as cellular and satellite communications, online cables, etc. The source reported that the key distribution system was tested on the ground - land equipment was involved, and now equipment that can work in space.

From the comment it follows that the satellite itself will be developed (or provided) either "Roscosmos" or "Gazprom space systems", and the center will provide a quantum "stuffing". According to the spokesman, the first launch may be held next year.

The center also noted that the "quantum" satellites will be delivered to orbit and will only be used to test the technology and evaluate the financial component of the project, which involves the deployment of a whole group over the territory of Russia.
