The Russian Federation will be left without Japanese engines for drones "Orlan-10": again imposed sanctions

The new package of sanctions is not only a ban on the supply of components to the UAV and the drones themselves, but also a number of electronic components. Japan's authorities decided to impose another package of sanctions against Russia for aggression against Ukraine. According to Interfax, since April 7, 2023, Japan's Ministry of Economy will prohibit the supply of high -tech equipment and components to Russia, which include drones, engines, spare parts and components.

According to the investigation of the Reuters and the British Institute for Defense Research, Russian Orlan-10 drones used in the war against Ukraine are collected mainly from the components of the production of foreign companies. Among them are Japanese engines FG-40 produced by Saito Seisakusho. These engines are commonly used for radio -controlled aircraft models and are supplied to 24 countries, including Russia.

However, among the clients of the Japanese firm there is no Russian company "Center for Special Technologies", which produces "Orlana-10". Therefore, it is believed that the Russian manufacturer purchases Japanese components through third parties. In addition, navigation equipment, optical equipment, modeling sets, cables, binoculars and aerial photography equipment are banned.

The segment of large equipment, which has been banned, includes construction equipment, ships for ships, steel and aluminum products and any type of products associated with aerospace, construction, metallurgical industries or communication. Earlier, Focus wrote that Japan had imposed sanctions against 73 Russian organizations, financial institutions and 48 Russians involved in the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.
