Russia can disable all electronics in Ukraine by applying Amy - ft

Nuclear weapons not only explode, but also causes a short circuit. As a result, Ukraine risks staying without light, warmth and communication. Instead of nuclear missiles, Russia can attack Ukraine with electromagnetic weapons that will cause at least losses. About this a veteran of the US Army Special Purpose and a former US Defense Ministry employee Roger Pardo Maurker wrote in the column of Financial Times.

The military expert noted that many interprets Russian President Vladimir Putin's statements about "military-technical measures" as a threat to the use of nuclear weapons. However, there is a very effective alternative: a tactical electromagnetic impulse, or Amy. Nuclear bombs designed for powerful explosions are not too effective against mobile units and guerrilla units, through which Ukraine returns its territory. However, tactical nuclear weapons can be used to create an electromagnetic pulse.

This type of attack is not accompanied by a cloud in the form of a mushroom, but a blue ball that resembles a jellyfish and a stunning silence. Such weapons create a powerful energy emission that causes a short circuit of electrical devices, including computers, smartphones, radios, radars, generators and satellites.

Roger Pardo Maurker suggests that one Emi-Uzar can disable all military and civilian infrastructure in the country, leaving Ukrainians without heat, communication, electricity and even transport. According to the veteran, small Amy at high altitude Russians can create hypersonic winged "Zircon" rockets. In this case, there will be no casualties and destruction, but electronic devices will fail in thousands of square meters.

Almost all the equipment transferred to Ukraine by NATO countries rests with electronics, if not for work, for service. These are radio stations, navigation systems, and UAVs. "The United States and their allies do not forget about Amy's dangers, and most of the military equipment has some built -in protection against such a threat. But the blow will create a new battlefield that will negate the advantage of our information systems," the expert explained.

Prolonged emi-attacks are capable of destroying 90% of satellites in three months, although without them will have a tight and Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In the Kherson region, for example, Russians can disable the control system and force the Armed Forces to replace broken equipment. Using the delay, Russia will restore strength and replenish reserves.

The analyst assures that even a local blow to Ukraine "exceeds the nuclear threshold" and will force NATO to respond in accordance with Article 5 of the Statute on Collective Defense. The use of weapons and radiation can pollute the air and pose a real threat to Europe's residents. Roger Pardo-Maurker proposed to train to prepare Ukrainians for survival after Emi-Razar from Russia. In October, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that it does not see the use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
