Belarusians against the placement of Russian nuclear weapons in the country - research (infographics)

The vast majority of citizens of Belarus, namely 44%, spoke against the deployment of nuclear weapons of the Russian Federation in their country. This is evidenced by the results of the Chatham House survey.

The indicators of the study show that among Belarus there is a lack of placement of nuclear weapons from the Russian Federation in the territory of Belarus. 30%are more negative about this idea. Only 10% of respondents look positively at this idea. Another 15% of Belarus called the idea rather positive, Anid is negative. Negative attitude prevails among all medias, including the audience of the state media.

Representatives of the Catham House analytical center interviewed Belarus not only about the likelihood of nuclear weapons from Russia in their country. The results showed that in March 2023, almost half of the respondents spoke against the actions of the Russian army, but about the same number believes that Russia would win in the war. Magic half of Belarus does not support the actions of the Russian troops.

Most Belarusian citizens did not change their position on the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine during the year of the war. Almost half - 44%, expresses a categorical disagreement, and another quarter could not give an assessment of its attitude to hostilities. In all segments except the audience of the state media, the number of opponents of the Russians is more than supporters. Among those who monitor and read state media, they clearly support - 53%.

In the Kremlin, on April 6, they explained why Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus were needed.
