"Collectors": the media told about Ukrainian volunteers looking for the bodies of Russian soldiers for exchange
About it reports the British edition of The Guardian in its report on March 14. Volunteers are looking for dead military in the territories of Ukraine. For example, in the abandoned village of Krasnopillya, Donetsk region, a group found two decomposed bodies of Russians, who were probably left in the basement by their comrades.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation left the settlement in September, and by March the bodies of the soldiers were decomposed so much that they almost did not smell, and they could only be recognized by tokens. The purpose of the volunteers is to gather dead Russians to exchange for the dead Ukrainian soldiers, since a serviceman cannot be declared officially dead until there is a body.
The process of their removal is extremely risky because the released settlements are littered with anti -personnel mines. Ukrainian corpses of 10 people said that since February 311 bodies of Russians have been taken away in de -industrial areas. Russian military is exchanged only after forensic examination. Before that, they are investigated, searched for personal belongings, money, identity and documents, and then register.
The exchange of bodies between Russia and Ukraine is a very secret process, and the total number of sent is not disclosed by either party. One source under anonymity was told to reporters that at least 20 exchanges of soldiers have occurred between the two countries. According to journalists, the exchange occurs on the Russian-Ukrainian border or on the front under the control of the military. However, recognizing bodies can be a problem: Russian corpses sometimes find burned.
This is done by the locals for hygiene reasons, sometimes the Russian military, who try to hide their losses. We will remind, on February 22 the media told that in Russia the issuance of bodies killed in Ukraine was restricted in order not to sow panic because of a large amount of "cargo 200". There are so many corpses of Russians that morgues do not cope with this amount of work. On February 17, Britain's intelligence reported that Russia has lost about 175,000 soldiers in the war in Ukraine.
