As it turned out, the "symbol" of the city was blown up in the winter - in February this year. The fighters of the Defense Forces of Ukraine showed a photo of the destroyed monument to the Soviet MiG-17 aircraft in Bakhmut. The corresponding photo was posted in the Fisrt Division Telegram on March 12. According to this photo was taken in February 2023.

We will remind, on March 10 journalist Yuri Butusov reported that in Bakhmut the monument of the MiG-17 aircraft, which was erected during the USSR, was blown up in Bakhmut. It is not reported whether the monument was destroyed by the Russian invaders, whether it was blown up by the Ukrainian military. On March 13, it became known that in the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol of Zaporizhzhya region mercenaries of PEC "Wagner" recruit residents to participate in the storming of Bakhmut.

According to the mayor of the city Ivan Fedorov, the invaders are ready to pay 200 thousand rubles a month for those who will agree to go to Bakhmut as part of the PEC. Also on March 13, the commander of the Land Forces, Colonel-General Alexander Sirsky said that the actions of the soldiers of the 56th separate mechanized brigade, the 5th separate assault brigade and the fighters of the tactical group "Adam" allow significant losses to the occupiers in Bakhmut.
