According to law enforcement officers, a foreign blogger, who worked at Russia Today's propaganda media, distributed fake information about the war in Ukraine to the European Union. For the publication of the materials, the detained used his YouTube and Telegram channels, whose total audience was about 500,000 subscribers.
According to the SBU, the blogger in his publications and videos supported the full -scale invasion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and justified the military crimes of Russians in Ukraine. The detainee also spread fakes about the war, calling on the European Union countries to limit our country assistance. The RT blogger arrived in Ukraine to a full -scale invasion and settled in the Chernihiv region.
After February 24, according to the SBU, the propagandist began to fulfill the "editorial tasks" of the media for the collection of materials for the preparation and release of custom plots about the war. For anti-Ukrainian activities, the suspect involved his cohabitant, who was engaged in the installation of rollers aimed at foreign Internet users. The detainee was suspected under Part 3 of Art.
436-2 of the Criminal Code-"justification, recognition of lawful, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants committed by a group of persons. " If the court recognizes the suspects guilty, they threaten 5 to 8 years in prison with possible confiscation of property.
