The IAEA governing body wants to urge Russia to leave Zaporizhzhya NPPs - Reuters

According to Reuters, the document's project continues the resolution approved at an emergency meeting of the Council in March (then only Russia and China opposed).

Video of the day in the draft of the document states that the Council "condemns the constant violent actions of the Russian Federation on the nuclear objects of Ukraine, including the presence of Russian troops and Rosatom staff at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant. " Reuters clarifies that the project of the resolution prepared on behalf of Ukraine, which is not part of the Council of Managers, still should be officially present at a quarterly meeting of the Council next week, discuss and vote.

Several diplomats said Reuters that, since the wording in the document is not much different from the March resolution, in which the Council "condemned" Russian aggression, most likely, it would be easily approved.

In the new project of the resolution, Russia is called to immediately terminate all actions on Zaporizhzhya NPP and any other Ukrainian nuclear facilities, as well as on them, and give the competent authorities to restore full control over these objects within the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine. The text also states that the Council repeats the recent call of the CEO of Maga Raphael Grossi before creating a safety zone and protection around the NPP.

On September 1, the IAEA delegation of 14 experts visited the Zaporozhye NPP in a temporarily captured energy. Specialists led by Raphael Grossi spent several hours in the territory. There are now two representatives of the mission at the station. The CEO of the IAEA said that the delegation establishes a constant presence on the NPP.

On September 6, the IAEA published a report on the results of the visit stating that there is now an urgent need to take temporary measures to prevent a nuclear accident, in particular to establish a safe area around the NPP. The agency also urged to stop the shelling in the station, but did not specify who was fire. The largest nuclear power plant, Zaporizhzhya NPP, Russian invaders were captured after battles in Energodar on March 4.

The buildings of the ZPE were damaged by Russian shelling in several places, and the staff of the station were captured. Russian troops have equipped fire positions for the ZPP and fired from there Ukrainian cities. Energoatom reported that the military of the Russian Federation had placed in the machine hall of the first power unit of Zaporizhzhya NPP at least 14 units of heavy military equipment with ammunition, weapons and explosives.

On August 22, the invaders brought additional APCs and special cargoes to the station repair area. In total, more than 40 units of military equipment of Russians were stationed in the station. In August, the invaders repeatedly arranged provocations with shelling. Energoatom reported that Russia is preparing to disconnect the Zaporozhye NPP from the power system of Ukraine. On August 25, Russian invaders provoked the first in the history of the NPP temporary disconnection from the power grid.
