Russian troops are trying to strengthen the defense of the occupied southern regions, but will deprive Slavyansk of the necessary combat force. Russia continues to transfer units of its troops from the northern part of Donetsk region to support defensive positions in the south of Ukraine. They probably suspend their offensive campaign in the Slavic direction. Analysts of the Institute of War Study (ISW) write about it.

The department noted that the withdrawal of part of Russian troops from the northern part of Donetsk region will deprive Slavic forces of the necessary combat power. The same situation was when Russian troops ignored the fronts of Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions during the offensive in Luhansk region.

The withdrawal of part of the Russian troops from this area will allow the Ukrainian army to go on a counter -offensive in the Izium direction, as well as the capture of Russia by Lugansk region allowed Ukraine to create conditions for counter -offensive in the Kherson region.

The ISW believes that the redeployment of Russian troops to the Zaporozhye region also provides that Ukrainian counter -offenses are not limited to the Kherson region and will probably take place throughout the south of Ukraine.
