"Red Lines" now in the past: in the Russian Federation reacted to the transfer of Leopard 2 tanks 2 Ukraine
This is stated in a statement by the Russian Ambassador in Germany Sergiy Nechayev, published on Wednesday, January 25. "This extremely dangerous solution is translating the conflict to a new level of confrontation," the Russian diplomat said. According to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, the decision to transfer tanks to Ukraine means that the event is "not interested in the diplomatic solution of the Ukrainian crisis", and all "red lines" remained in the past.
In addition, Nechayev stated that Berlin allegedly refused to recognize his responsibility to the Russian people for the crimes of Nazism during the Second World War. The diplomat noted that "combat tanks with German crosses" will again go to the Eastern Front, which, in particular, will lead to the death of Russian soldiers.
"The said decision Berlin adopted on the days of the 80th anniversary of the breakthrough of the Leningrad blockade, in which hundreds of thousands of Soviet citizens were killed. It destroys the remains of mutual trust, causes irreparable damage to Russian-German relations, which are already in a miserable state, puts question their normalization in the near future, " - added Nechayev.
We will remind, on January 25, the Chancellor of the German Olaf Scholz unlocked the transfer of LEOPARD 2 tanks 2 to Ukraine, as well as announced the supply of 14 such machines. Leopard 2A6 tanks will come from Kiev from Germany's armed forces, as well as Berlin will grant the Allies permission to supply their Leopard 2 to Ukraine.
