Developers can remove the iOS and Android operating systems remotely. Foreign manufacturers can disable all smartphones in Russia. Natalia Kasperskaya, the head of the Association of Developers of Domestic Software, told about such a scenario on the Russian TV channel Zvezda. According to her, hypothetically Russians can remotely disconnect devices that work on both iPhone (iPhone) and Android.

It is one of the threats of cyberwar, which is conducted simultaneously with the invasion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine. Natalia Kasperskaya believes that the shutdown of smartphones will not become a disaster for Russia. Instead, residents of the aggressor country will use laptops, e-mail or old button phones or other devices. "This is not something that will completely violate the infrastructure of the Russian Federation," Kasperskaya says.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Council of Development of the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation Herman Klimenko warned that Russians could block smartphones on iOS and Android. According to him, abandoning automatic updates can save devices from lock, but they will become more vulnerable to hackers and viruses. In Russia, they decided to create an analogue of Google Play so that Android smartphones do not turn into "brick".
