The plan of sanctions against the Russian Federation is made by 70%, the pressure on the aggressor should intensify and Russia must be recognized as a terrorist state-Andriy Yermak

Another meeting of the International Expert Group on Sanctions against Russia was held, headed by the Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and former US Presidential Advisor Michael McFol Ambassador. The group is traditionally found in videoconference format. Andriy Yermak thanked the members of the group for productive work for five months and congratulated them on achieving a significant result - the implementation of a 70% of the action plan presented in April this year.

“I thank you very much for your efforts that you have made from the moment of our work in March. It is simply incredible, and it is very appreciated by our president and the whole Ukrainian people. I am sure that you can all be proud of the results of our sanction group, ”he said. The head of the head of state offered new ideas for discussion. First of all, it is a document on the recognition of Russia by a sponsor of terrorism.

He stressed that it is a difficult process, but it is not necessary to stop because Russia is a terrorist state. This is also demanded by the Ukrainian people. Another important issue, as Andrey Yermak noted, is the ban on obtaining visas by Russian citizens. He noted that the European Commission proposed to suspend the Visa Simplification Agreement with the Russian Federation, but it is necessary to achieve more and prepare appropriate proposals.

“The Russians, these inhumans, have no right to be among the civilized citizens of the West. Can you imagine that Russian women call their husbands and tell them to kill and rape Ukrainians? These are real negotiations, intercepted by our intelligence. And then the same Russian "women" just come to Europe to lie on the beaches and go to museums. This is absolutely wrong, ” - the head of the Presidential Office is convinced.

Andriy Yermak drew attention to the fact that Ukraine is actively performing internal work on sanctions against the Russian Federation. In particular, these days have been applied to more than 600 people belonging to the leadership of Russia. An interagency working group on the implementation of state sanction policy was created.

The head of the head of state also proposed to continue the successful practice of communicating members of the International Expert Group on sanctions against Russia with parliamentarians of different countries. The participants of the meeting noted the progress in working with documents and emphasized that the sanction pressure on Russia should only intensify. They discussed the need to impose sanctions in the field of nuclear energy, refusal to import uranium from Russia.
