"To reject threats": The White House estimated the readiness of the Russian Federation for nuclear strike in Ukraine

The US authorities are watching everything that Russia does in nuclear technology. Washington analyzes Vladimir Putin's statement about the suspension of Russia's participation in the S-3 treaty. The United States does not see the readiness of Russian President Vladimir Putin to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine. On February 24, the head of the National Security Council in the White House, John Kirby, said this in an interview with Rain.

The US military command monitors everything that Russia is doing in the field of nuclear weapons, he stressed. "These threats cannot be rejected. In parallel, the states monitor the condition and capabilities of their nuclear arsenal. The prohibition has not changed, the head of the press service added. The official noted that Washington now analyzes the content of Putin's statement to suspend Russia in the treaty to reduce strategic offensive weapons (S-3).

According to him, US President Joe Biden spoke of the great importance of the S-3 treaty and its continuation. Treaties on arms restraint are especially important today, at the time of increasing tension in the relations of the two countries, he stressed. The British newspaper Financial Times, citing Kremlin officials on February 22, wrote how Putin was considered a nuclear blow to Ukraine.

According to the former Russian official, there is no point in such an act - even a limited blow will not bring no benefit. Another source said that Putin had almost alone decided to attack Ukraine and did not take into account the opinions of people from the immediate environment. We will remind that the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak in a comment of focus on February 22 said about a constant nuclear blackmail of Russia.
