Andriy Yermak discussed with United Ambassadors, well -known actors and filmmakers assistance in returning Ukrainian children deported by Russia
In particular, a meeting with the French filmmaker Michel Azanavichus, American actress from Ukraine Ivanna Sakhno and Canadian actress Katherine Vinnik, American actor, director and producer Liev Schryber, as well as British director-documentary Andre Singer. The head of the office of the Head of State noted that in the issue of the return of Ukrainian children from Russia, as in the fight against the state-aggressor on the battlefield, the world unity plays a decisive role.
“The unity of the world community is as powerful weapons as Himars and Patriot. We continue to look for opportunities and tools by which we can return our children deported by Russia from the occupied territories of Ukraine. That is why it is so important to tell the world about this problem that people in Europe and America remember that this terrible war is continuing and the smallest suffers from it, ”Andrei Yermak said.
According to the head of the head of state, this problem has several aspects. The first category of children - those who have parents from whom the invaders were taken away and under the pretext of recovery were illegally taken to the territory of Russia and not returned.
The second category is minor citizens of Ukraine who have lost their parents but have a grandparents, grandfather, aunt or uncle, but the occupiers do not return their children to their relatives, but are adopted in the Russian Federation. The most difficult third category is children illegally exported by Russians from orphanages located in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
They are most difficult to identify because invaders often destroy children's documents, and during adoption by the Russians change their names and nationality. Andriy Yermak noted that there is still no effective mechanism in the world that would help return Ukrainian children to their homeland.
Therefore, President Volodymyr Zelensky has set a task: with the involvement of all profile ministers, the Ombudsman, the Office of the Prosecutor General to develop a step -by -step program of action to cooperate with international organizations, the media, and public persons to return our children from Russia.
“One of these effective steps can be the involvement of stars, which at different international sites: at film festivals, at the prescription of musical and film award - they will talk about the crimes that Russia commits against Ukrainian children, depriving it of their homeland, national identity, mother tongue, etc.
In order for the international community to press on the Russian Federation and demanded that little Ukrainians return home, ”said Andrei Ermak, adding that many famous personalities have already agreed to help with this. For her part, Ivanna Sakhno noted that she was well aware of the problem of deportation by Russia of Ukrainian children.
She supported the idea that people on various public sites, including in the US Congress, highlighted this problem and attracted the attention of the American people. Katherine Vinnik noted that if she was not able to study Ukrainian traditions, Ukrainian language in Canada, she would not know her roots and would not be in Ukraine today. "If you are counting on my help, then I'm 100% on your side," she said.
Andriy Yermak also emphasized the importance of spreading truthful information in Ukraine in the world, as Russian propaganda continues to work, in particular in the countries of the global south, the support of which is very needed by our country. According to the head of the Presidential Office, it is possible to talk about Ukraine through the stories of ordinary Ukrainians who carried out truly heroic actions during this full -scale war.
This is, in particular, the history of the defenders of "Azovstal" and the heroic defense of the Kyiv, Kharkiv, other regions or the history of the gymnast, which lost its leg through Russian shelling, but continued training and prepares for the competition. “Now everyone in the world know about Ukraine. And of course, people will be interested in learning more about our country, our history.
Already, foreign directors are looking for such stories in Ukraine, and we as the authorities are ready to promote in every possible way. In addition, we have talented directors, actors and great opportunities to build a movie industry here in the future when we will have a restoration, ”Andrey Yermak said. “It was very weighed to maintain the unity of the world community around Ukraine. We still lack weapons.
