"Fatal Consequences": The UN told about the execution of Ukrainians by Russian military

According to the UN report, the murder of civilians in the north of Ukraine often went on the so -called "security checks". The head of the UN Human Rights Mission in Ukraine Matilda Boer said that in the first weeks of a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation, hundreds of civilians were killed in Ukraine. The war crimes of the Russian army in the territory of Ukraine are documented in the UN Human Rights report, they write on the official website of the organization.

The UN reported a violent death of 441 civilians (341 people, 72 women, 20 boys and 8 girls) in three Ukrainian regions only in the first 6 weeks of a full -scale war. It is about Kyiv, Sumy and Chernihiv regions. According to the report, 88 percent of the killed civilians are men and boys. "There are convincing signs that the total executions documented in this report can be a war crime in the form of premeditated murder," Matilda Boer commented.

The authors of the report stressed that the deaths of the civilian population of Ukraine are not limited to specific territories. At the same time, more crimes were recorded in some settlements than in the rest. Thus, in the city of Bucha, Kyiv region, UN experts found a violent death of 73 civilians (54 men, 16 women, 2 boys and 1 girl). Confirmation require another 105 likely killings.

According to Matilda Bogner, various reasons could be the reason for the death of Ukrainians for the Russian Federation. "A simple text message, a piece of camouflage clothing or a track record of previous military service may have fatal consequences," - said the head of the UN Human Rights Mission in Ukraine. Recall that the UN prepared a project of a resolution on the creation of an international tribunal for prosecution of Russians responsible for crimes against Ukraine.
