Putin has put forward an ultimatum in Europe: you want gas-open the north stream-2-Reuters

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin denied Russia's involvement in the energy crisis in Europe, stating that if the European Union wants more gas, it should abolish sanctions that allegedly interfere with the opening of the North-2 gas pipeline. Putin stated this, speaking to journalists after the Shanhai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Uzbekistan, September 16, Reuters reports.

Putin accused of energy in the energy crisis that he called "green daily", and insisted that Russia would fulfill its energy obligations. Video of the Day "The Essence is, if you wish, if you are so difficult, just remove the hatchet from the North Stream-2, which is 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year, just click the button and everything will go," Putin said.

North Stream-2 is a pipeline from Russia to Europe 1234 km long, bypassing the gas transmission system of Ukraine at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The project was started in 2018 after the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukrainian Crimea and Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In 2021, the construction of the gas pipeline was completed, but the German regulator did not certify it against the backdrop of reports on the recovery of Russian troops to the Ukrainian borders.

Two days before the start of the full -scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Germany stopped the certification of the project. On March 1, the gas pipeline filed a bankruptcy application. According to US President Joe Baiden, the US and Germany are working to ensure that the Nord Stream-2 is not launched. Meanwhile, gas prices in Europe have increased more than twice since the beginning of the year as Russia has reduced supplies.
