Charity Evolution: As a full -scale war changed the priorities of most Ukrainians

We talked to this relevant topic for all of us with Phila Zhebrovskaya, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Pharmacist Pharmaceutical Company and the founder of the Zhebrivsky Charitable Foundation. - Fillet Ivanovna, what is charity in the modern world and in your understanding? - If our conversation took place last year, I would say that successful companies and individual well -being people who have something to share and who want changes in society.

But from the beginning of the Great War in Ukraine has changed. Everyone does everything he can, in their place. People prepare food for TR, make Bandera-Smugs, help the army, displaced persons. None of them have "unnecessary" finances. But they seek to change the situation in which we are now. Video of the Day in my opinion, it is our Ukrainian experience that will significantly affect what the charitable activity in the world will be. And this process was launched at the time of the war in Ukraine.

- Has the culture of charity already developed in Ukraine? - Without exaggeration, I will say that now 95% of people in Ukraine are engaged in charity. Both the rich and the poor united under one slogan: all that I have, I have to give for the sake of victory. And this phenomenon must be described. The classic understanding of charity has changed. Almost every citizen of Ukraine began to volunteer in his place or joined charitable activities.

- Please tell us about the Zhebrivsky Charitable Foundation. For what purpose was it created? What are the priority areas of activity? - Farmak has become the leader of the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine since 2010. Yes, we achieved some success at that time, and in 2011 we founded our family charity fund in order to help those who need it. All relatives, including my nephews, which are already shareholders of the company today, have joined this activity.

In the focus of our pre-war projects, there were conditions for the full life of every Ukrainian: health care, educational measures, preservation of historical and cultural heritage, providing social assistance and protection of the population. Many did in our small homeland - in Nemyryni (Zhytomyr region), from where our family is originally. In fact, they built a church there, refined the park, repaired school.

We try to preserve the cultural heritage - helped to repair and make 10 editions of paintings of the National Art Museum of Ukraine. The Fund's activities were based on our professional knowledge in the field of health, experience in finding innovative approaches and opportunities for the implementation of projects, and, importantly, transparency and openness in work. - Have they changed in wartime? - Today, for us, as for all Ukrainians, the most important thing is victory.

And we do everything to approach it. Over the past five months, the Fund has assisted the Armed Forces of Ukraine of more than 30 million UAH. In the process, we learned almost everything we need: from the list of critical medicines to ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests. Moreover, together with our partners, we organized the delivery of humanitarian aid to medicines from European countries worth more than 1. 8 million euros, and did so our own transport.

Half a million dollars were allocated for the purchase of Lelek 100 unmanned aviation complexes. And for our intelligence, they purchased a multi-purpose unmanned UJ-22 Airborne Airborne Airborne, which is able to fly at any time of the year, day and night. We are currently sending 20 Dji drones to our paratroopers. Plus, the sixth Sumy region will soon receive 10 specially equipped cars. The first six are already there. It is important for us that the defenders get real support.

Therefore, we do not just allocate money, but buy and transfer the necessary to the front. We continue to support other areas: schools in Kiev, Zhytomyr region. For example, now we have a shelter for students there. - Do Pharmak staff join the charity? - The staff themselves are actively helping. Our employees on their own initiative cooked borscht and baked buns, removed them with military territorial defense in Kiev.

They also helped what could be the numerous displaced persons and people who lost their housing due to war. In particular, they helped with moving and necessary things for the first time. At the initiative of Pharmak employees, we organized a charity event "I work for one day for the army". Thus, our people from their salaries have raised 2 million UAH for the military. There are people who simply allocate money from a salary every month. We spent Donor Day in Pharmac.

In the first 15 minutes of the invitation, people broke off us a phone line. There were many more than we expected. Thus, 30 liters of blood and plasma were transmitted to those people who needed them. - What difficulties have you faced in the process of the team of your fund since the full -scale war? - The composition of the drug "Pharmak", which was located near the village of Makarov near Kiev, was completely destroyed during the tank battle.

These losses are approximately one and a half billion hryvnias. However, this did not affect our desire to bring victory closer. We do not ask the question that we cannot. We overcome the accompanying difficulties: we find the optimal algorithms for buying, registration of supporting documents and prompt delivery of everything you need to the front.

For example, at the beginning of the war, it was difficult for us to buy night vision devices - we even had to pay our own cash because it accelerated the process. - Do you exercise charity outside the Fund's activities? - If babies in hospitals want to eat whether they need diapers, I do not wait for we to spend it through the fund and give my own money. Or, for example, a doctor on the front line, which has damaged the bulletproof vest, raises money for a new one, which costs 47 000 UAH.

Will I refuse him? I will list my 40,000 from two bank cards, because now there are difficulties because of limits for transferring private funds. Then I find a way to list another 7,000, which is not enough to buy a new bulletproof vest. - Now millions of Ukrainians have become philanthropists. Will this trend remain after victory? - We have been seeing democratic changes in our country for many years. And recent events have accelerated this process.
