The SBU detained the Metropolitan of the UOC -MP, who justified the actions of the Russians in Ukraine (video)

According to security officers, the clergyman ordered the creation of a new departmental site in the Cherkasy Diocese under the ROC template and called on religious communities to unite in the war against Ukraine. The SBU detained the head of the Cherkasy Diocese of the UOC (MP), who denied the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and justified the actions of Russian invaders. The press service of the department reports on April 6.

The investigation found that in 2020, the cleric ordered to create a new departmental site in the diocese according to the ROC template. For this purpose, Russian software was used, which retorted destructive content from pro-Kremliv Internet resources, such as "patriarchia. ru" and "pravoslavie. ru". On these resources propagandists justify the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and military crimes of the invaders.

Also, on the "new" site, the Metropolitan praised the Moscow priests who help the Russian Federation and urged religious communities to unite in the war against Ukraine. The Metropolitan reported suspicion under Part 2 and Part 3 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code (justification, recognition legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants). The issue of choosing a preventive measure cleric is being resolved.

At the time of the material, the press service of the UOC -MP did not formally comment on the detention of the head of the Cherkasy Diocese. It should be reminded that the SBU exposed the priest from Izium, who during the occupation of Kharkiv region blessed Russian soldiers and arranged a ecclesiastical course for the sake of propaganda videos of Roszma.
