The Russian Armed Forces launches Iranian drones ShahED-131: How are they different from Shahd-136

Shaahed-131 UAV was dismantled for spare parts after his arrival in the Kiev region. The Russian army, following the ShahED-136, began to use a new type of Iranian drones called ShahED-131. This was reported on Twitter. After the attack of Dron-Kamikadze in the Kiev region, the remains of the aircraft were noticed, which was identified as ShahED-131. On the building, the marking "431 geraniums" is preserved, while Shahd-136 Russians sign "Geran-2".

Analysts say that this model has smaller sizes, flight range and the number of explosives compared to ShahED-136. In addition, Shahd-131 puts weaker engines: Iranian Shahd-783/788 or Serat-01, which are similar to the Chinese MDR-208. According to Defense Express, Russia has already used Shahd-131 to strikes in Ukraine, in particular, in Odessa.

The report presented by the Center for Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces indicates that the device uses commercial electronics, including GPS receiver, so the drone can only affect the fixed objects. The developers have equipped UAVs with a system of protection against replacement of navigation signals, but not from "muffins".

In case of loss of satellite signal, the ShahED-131 will continue to move in the same course and at the same height, and then adjust the trajectory when the communication is restored.
