Hryvnia trillions: in the Ministry of Ecology called the amount of losses of ecology of Ukraine from the war with the Russian Federation

According to Ukrainian officials, Russia provokes climate, humanitarian and nuclear crisis. Due to the fighting, land and air are contaminated, forests were burned and many objects are destroyed. Russia has caused damage to Ukraine's ecology worth more than 2 trillion hryvnias. This was stated on March 10 by the First Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Grechanyk at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on Environmental Policy and Environmental Management in Kharkiv.

The assessment of losses concerns the start of the full -scale war on February 24, 2022. According to the official, Kiev calculates the price of each destroyed tree. "We continue to establish new facts of losses and destruction every day. This is land and air pollution, burned forests, destroyed objects . . . Remuneration is inevitable. It is important that we have international support," Grechanik stressed.

Russia provokes climate, humanitarian and nuclear crisis because of the situation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, a specialist added. "It is also important to develop new concepts and programs for the restoration of the ecology of Ukraine now," the official stated. The head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office Alexander Filchakov added that the war causes tremendous damage to the environment.

According to him, the prosecutor's office is investigating cases of deliberate or accidental damage to nature. "We record and analyze all the crimes in the field of ecology, attacks on industrial facilities, oil depots," Filchakov summed up.
