The military will receive the Amelia chat bar: will help solve technical problems in the army

In 2021, the Pentagon signed a contract for the creation of a special SI as technical support. The US Navy is launching a program of spoken artificial intelligence known as Amelia, Defense News reports. According to the Pentagon, chat bot should help troubleshooting and answer the most common questions about technical support from seafarers, infantrymen and civilian staff.

The complete deployment of the neural network is expected in August and is the last step in the Navy Enterprise Service Desk project worth $ 136 million, intended for modernization and combining more than 90 IT services into one central knot. This complex project is performed by General Dynamics Information Technology, which at the end of 2021 concluded a contract with the Pentagon for the introduction of a neural network in the US Army.

Military engineers and equipment will be able to contact Amelia by phone or by chat. The program should serve more than 1 million users around the clock, based on deep training. "Basically, we had to have a staff who knew how to solve a specific problem," says Travis Duson, Chief Technical Director of GDIT, which deals with the development of a neural network. "However, any problem can be documented and then automated without human participation.
